General Description of School

A Jesuit, Catholic university in mission and spirit, Fairfield University is situated on a beautiful 200 acre campus in suburban CT. The University has a student body of 3500 undergraduates, 1050 graduate students, and over 300 continuing studies students. The school offers traditional undergraduate programs grounded by a liberal arts core. The popular RN to BSN program is nationally ranked as one of the top ten programs of its type in the country. The competitive Second Degree (accelerated) Baccalaureate option is a full time cohort program that allows students with a degree in another field to become nurses within 15 months. Masters programs include Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, (PsychNP) and Leadership tracks, including a specialization in Informatics Nursing (LEAD-IN). DNP tracks include FNP, PsychNP, Nurse Midwifery and Nurse Anesthesia. Post-Masters programs are available for current advanced practice nurses and the EDNP is designed for current nurse executives, educators and entrepreneurs seeing a terminal DNP to enhance their leadership skills.
