Admission Requirements

Hartford HealthCare colleagues must have met all the following criteria to be eligible for the program. 

• Be a colleague in good standing and not currently on a performance improvement plan or under any disciplinary action
• Receive a minimum of “meets expectations” on one’s performance evaluation (if applicable)
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in any major other than nursing from an accredited college or university (Alternatively, have earned an associate degree or a minmum of 60 transferable credits towards a bachelor degree

Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B)

Complete all required pre-requisite courses within the last 5 years with a grade of B- or better:

 

• Microbiology with a lab (4 credits)
• Anatomy & Physiology I with lab (4 credits)
• Anatomy & Physiology II with lab (4 credits)
• Statistics (3 credits)
• Intro to Psychology (3 credits)

Program Description

Delivered in partnership with Hartford HealthCare, the New Careers in Nursing program offers a part-time, two-year pathway for working professionals to earn your BSN. The program welcomes qualified applicants to work at Hartford HealthCare while acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to provide holistic care for diverse populations across the lifespan.
