Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (BSN in Nursing preferred) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.  Applicants must also have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.70 on a 4.00 point scale (where A is 4.00), or its equivalent, and good standing (3.000 GPA) in all post-baccalaureate course work. 

 The Application process:

 A.     Applicant must submit a completed application for admission to graduate study as well as official transcripts from all institutions where undergraduate and graduate work has been done to the Graduate Recruitment and Admissions Office;

B.      B. Applicants must submit a narrative statement describing their professional goals as well as any specific training experiences that may assist the department’s admissions committee in reviewing the application.

C.      C. Applicants must also submit two letters of reference, one preferably from a nursing employer and one from an academic source.

 

D.     D. Applicants must have a grade of C+ or higher in an undergraduate statistics course.

Program Description

MSN in Hospice & Palliative Care. The program is designed to be completed in 2 years and part-time study. The first 7 courses are delivered exclusively online. The final 2 courses are a Practicum course & capstone course. Students work with the MSN co-ordinator, faculty, and members of the cohort. Students may select a specialty either in hospice or palliative care.
