Program Description
Yale's Doctoral of Philosophy program in nursing is rated among the top five programs in the United States. The program is designated to prepare nurse scientists who conduct cutting edge research that links theory and clinical practice. Graduates are prepared for research and faculty positions in academic, clinical, and other settings where research skills are needed. Students have the opportunity to study with nationally and internationally recognized faculty to address the most pressing health problems. YSN provides excellent pre- and post-doctoral opportunities, many of which are NIH-funded. Currently, we have NIH training programs in Multidisciplinary Behavioral Research in Type 1 Diabetes and Self and Family Management of Chronic Illnesses.
